in 2013, particapating in five International tournaments to include: Iran, Peru, Air Tahiti, Yonex USA and Brazi, where she took two golds, one silver and three bronze medals. She is an extremely accomplished player, respected around the world, for her singles and doubles play.

Charmaine Reid - Canada



Chamaine was born in 1973 in Niagra Falls, Ontario Canada, but her home now is in Calgary, Alberta. She has had a very fulfilling career since winning Bronze medalist as a singles player, in the Pan American Championships in 1977, to her latest accomplishment of winning six titles


The FZ FORZA OPEN in November 2016 had 199 participants. It is one of the biggest tournaments in the Uníted States, both because of the size of the prize money and also for the large number of participants. This year from all over the US, Canada, India and Denmark. Mikkel Mikkelsen, a Pro badminton player from Denmark won MD-A, MD-A with Morten Herschend and he also won XD-A with Mie Falkenberg. Also Mónika Szőke from Boston was there, and some very talented players from California as well.

Worlds No 9 in Men's Doubles Mads Conrad

Badminton NC had a visit from Mads Conrad-Petersen. He is a Prof. Badmintonplayer from Denmark.


No. 9 on the World Rankings right now in Men's Doubles with his partner Mads Kolding.


Winner of German Open 2015 and Semi finalist at All England 2015


Mads did two Trainings, a big Group of 16 people and a smaller group of 8 people. It was a great experience and a Unique chance to meet a real Professionel Badminton Player.

NC Open 2014

October 2014 the club hosted the NC Open, its first USA Badminton sanctioned tournament with prize money totaling $12,000 and sponsorship from Adidas and Credit Suisse.


The tournament attracted the four-time national champion of India, Chetan Anand, who was ranked No. 14 in the world. In three games, Anand triumphed over, Mattias Borg, currently ranked 97th.

As national coach of Sweden, Dennis Christensen trained Mattias Borg until this past spring.

In mixed doubles Falkenberg and Borg beat a strong pair from Boston.


Canadian and German Olympic Badminton Players Visit Badminton NC


We were so very pleased to have had the opportunity to have Chamaine Reid and Nicole Grether take part in our "soft' opening May 31, 2014. They were very instrumental in promoting the sport of Badminton, as well as providing such positive enthusium and support to those attending that day. Both ladies visited Hawfields Middle School a couple of days prior to the opening, to promote Badminton as an inreasingly popular sport in the United States.

Nicole Grether - Germany



Nicole was born in 1974 in Germany. Nicole competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in doubles, winning the first round, before being defeated in the round of 16. Some of Nicole's accomplishments include: Two time Olympian, Six time European Championship Medalist, Nine time German

Champion, Five time German Team Champion and holds the record for the most tournaments competed in 2012, at age 41. Since 2011 she has been representing Canada with her partner Charmaine Reid, and they continue to compete Internationally in tournaments.
